How To Overcome Unbelief

Faith is the language impossibilities understand. With faith you can take absolute control of your life and environment. Faith is the currency of heaven to possess anything to the glory of God.

When God sees you believing in him in spite of the attacks coming against you, then he will erect a barrier to cover you. Hebrews 11 tells us what was accomplished when men and women acted out in faith. The same faith that worked for them works for us.

When you’re down, or depressed, there’s no incentive for your natural mind to praise God. But God is looking for us to do just that. It’s a choice. David said, “I will bless the Lord at all times” (Psalms 34:1) when you’re at your lowest point, that’s when you need to raise your voice in praise. Nothing demonstrates trust like thanking God when you’re in the throes of crisis. A thankful heart builds your faith.

Remember: You must see where you have been to trust where God is taking you next. Reflect back on his faithfulness. Jesus said “Blessed are those who have not seen but still believe.”

Prayer: Father, I believe I have the mind of Christ. I believe you are doing something in my thinking, and im not going to live in unbelief anymore. Im going to live in victory. I know how to have a future that is even better than I can expect. I give all my ___________ to you. Please bury my unbelief and help me to keep from digging it up again. In Jesus name, Amen.

Scripture Reference

Romans 8:25-25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.

Romans 4: 18-25 Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. This is why “it was credited to him as righteousness.” The words “it was credited to him” were written not for him alone, but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness—for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.

Psalms 9:10 Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.

Isaiah 26:3-4 You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.

Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.

Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
